ENGL 101A -- Deadlines!

In the "real" world, missed deadlines have very real consequences.

Some of you may have experienced this by not paying a bill on time and having to pay a large fee; some of you may have experience with this in other ways. In this class, missed deadlines mean missed opportunities--I don't accept late assignments.

What is it that makes meeting deadlines so difficult? For this blog, write about yourself and your experience and attitude towards deadlines. Do you meet them? Miss them? Ask for extensions? Why? If you do miss them, what can you do to change because you already know, that not getting your work done on time for this class isn't going to get you the grade you hope to earn (or get you into 102).

Please remember to read carefully and follow the blogging guidelines I've post in the files on our MyMC course page. And remember the deadline!

  1. What makes deadlines difficult is that i just don't start the assignments on time, meaning i wait to do the assignment the day before it is due. There are times when i don't miss deadlines but when i do its because either i procrastinate and do it the day before it's due or i just forget that i have an assignment due that day because i don't note the assignment down on my planner. The only possible thing i can think of to help me with meeting deadlines is note down the assignment on my planner and start the assignment the day it is assigned.

  2. Deadlines are notices that all professors give to students. It is up to the Student to know when to turn an assignment in. The way this class is moving there should not be any time for errors or late work because of how much is supposed to be done. Students do not have a lot of time to procrastinate. I understand where the professor is coming from when she says she does not accept late work. I usually do not have a problem with deadlines. I make sure i finish the assignment with the allotted time i am give. It is pretty rare for me to turn work late.
