For your second blog post, think about what you most want in life. Money? Marriage? Fame? Adventure? A cool job? Spiritual fulfillment? Write about the one thing you want most in life and why that is most important. Please explain in detail the why.

What Do You Bring to EN 002?

Welcome to EN 002. We are a community of learners, which means that each of you contributes to this class and its success in some way. That is why it's important for everyone to attend class, arrive on time, stay focused, come prepared, meet deadlines, and so on. Everything you do impacts on everyone else. And what you do can mean success or failure to everyone in the group.

For your first blog, write reasons why we (the other students and I) are happy that you are in this class. What will you contribute to EN 002? What positive assets do you bring to us? If it helps, think about Dr. Stewart's "A Guaranteed Path to Academic Success." Are you particularly good at any of those steps?

Gratitude

For your next blog assignment, write about what you are grateful for. Thanksgiving is next week, and it is traditionally a time when we give thanks. So for this post, think about what you are thankful for and write about it.

Write one well-developed paragraph with a clear topic sentence that has a controlling idea, 3 major supports (people/things you are grateful for), and minor details that explain why. Don't forget a concluding sentence. Please be sure to proofread your paragraph from hardcopy before posting it. You might want to start with an outline.

We will read these in class next week, Monday, the 19th. So you need to post this before class next Monday.

Interview

Which character would you like to meet and why would you want to meet that character? Think about the characters you have read about so far. Decide which one fascinates you the most. What questions would you want to ask him? How do you think he would respond to your questions? For this blog post, write an interview with the character. Write the questions and answer them as you think the character would. Try to use the character's "voice" when writing the answers (and your "voice" when you write the questions). You should have at least 5 questions and answers. Please remember to follow the blogging guidelines that are in the files on our MyMC course page.

New Semester, New Group of Bloggers

For your first blog, write about a positive experience you have had at the College so far this semester. Surely something good has happened. PLEASE remember to read the blogging guidelines I posted in the files on our MC course page. In order to receive credit for your work, you must follow the guidelines. So read them, makes good sense. Don't you think?

Hum, What Would it Be Like?

All of the soldiers in Restropo say that the most difficult and scary mission was Rock Avalanche, which Junger describes in book two "Killing," chapters one through five. Junger describes these events from his own view of what he saw. For this blog, select one of the characters who took part in Rock Avalanche and describe what happens over the course of those three days from that character's viewpoint. You will need to work very closely with your book. See how much detail and description you can include. Don't write a summary or retell what happened. Instead, put yourself in the character's shoes and write about his experience during Rock Avalanche. Have fun with this one.

WAR! What is it Good For?

Well, it has been quite a while since we have bloged together. By now, you should be pretty much finished with the book (have read through book three, "Loving," chap. 5). Why do you think he calls the first book "Fear," the second book "Killing," and the third book "Loving"? Talk about each book and what the connection is between the events in the book and the book's title. In other words, what happens in "Fear" that you think he called that part of the book "Fear." Why does he call the second book "Killing," and the third book "Loving."

Be very specific and refer to the book and what is happening in the book to support your answers.
